Global real estate brand continues Canadian expansion with its first Whistler brokerage
Engel & Völkers has announced its expansion into Whistler with a new real estate shop opening, growing the company’s global network and luxury service in Canada. The newly established Engel & Völkers Whistler is led by esteemed license partners Maggi Thornhill and Max Thornhill, who have run their own independent brand, Thornhill Real Estate Group, since 2007. Maggi Thornhill holds the decade long title as Whistler’s #1 agent having made over $1.7 Billion in sales volume since becoming REALTOR® certified in 1989, serving as the top agent for 10+ years.
The new shop will provide leading real estate services to home buyers and sellers all over Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. With a combined team of 30 advisors, the three new shops will be located in Whistler Village, Whistler Creekside and Squamish.
“The opportunities to grow and elevate our team’s success are what attracted us the most to Engel & Völkers,” said Maggi Thornhill. “Our team’s current approach pairs perfectly with Engel & Völkers’ strong passion, expert knowledge and communal company culture. We can’t wait to offer our clients worldwide exposure to the best in luxury real estate and take our brokerage to the next level.”
Known as the #1 ski resort in North America with the longest ski season in the world, Whistler is truly an idyllic place to live and is now one of the hottest housing markets in all of Canada. Buyers are attracted to Whistler because of its recreational facilities, ski mountains, bike trails and resort lifestyle. Five lakes run through the valley from one end to the other, all of which have beaches and luxury facilities surrounding them. The market carries a broad selection of properties, from big traditional timber homes to modern contemporary houses.
“We’re thrilled to add Engel & Völkers Whistler to our Canadian network of shops,” said Anthony Hitt, president & CEO of Engel & Völkers Americas. “As the Whistler market continues to grow exponentially, Max, Maggi and their team’s reputable quality service and expert local knowledge will take our global network to new heights. We look forward to working together to lead the luxury real estate market in Whistler through the blend of our shared values and enthusiasm in offering the best services to local and international buyers.”
Maggi and Max Thornhill are opening the new shop with a highly acclaimed reputation, having already built up a firm footing in the market with strong sales and leading successful charitable initiatives.
